What Is Mobile Personal Training? Benefits of In-Home Fitness

What Is Mobile Personal Training?

When envisioning personal training most people will probably think of a gym with equipment everywhere, loud music, and  a bunch of people working out around you. Mobile personal training offers a different approach: professional coaching, accountability, and an effective exercise program within the comfort of your home.

With in-home personal training, your program is designed specifically for your goals, fitness level, and needs. You can train in a private environment, use equipment you already have, listen to your favorite music, and focus entirely on your workout without the distractions of a crowded gym.

Time Saver

Time is life’s most precious commodity, once it’s gone, we cannot get it back. Between work, family, relationships and daily responsibilities, finding time to workout and improve your health can be challenging. A one-hour workout can often turn into a 2+ hour commitment when you account for driving, parking, changing, waiting for machines, and showering afterwards.

Mobile personal training removes these barriers and makes hitting your fitness goals so much easier. Your trainer knocks on your door, gets right to the workout and before you know it the session is over, leaving you feeling energized and with more time to spend on the most important things in your life.

The Environment

The biggest difference between mobile and traditional personal training is the environment.

It can be difficult to work out in a gym sometimes, not only do you have to account for the commute but you also have to contend with all the other gym goers there. I love the fitness community and more often than not they are great people who are willing to help you out if needed, but if you’ve ever been to the gym after 5pm then you know how annoying it is to have to change up your entire workout routine because a group of high schoolers decided to take turns on the bench for 30 minutes while another guy is doing a circuit hogging three machines at one time. This might not be the biggest deal if you’re with a good trainer because they can pivot the workout to accommodate but if you’re on your own or following a written workout plan, you’re going to feel lost and frustrated.

For a complete beginner to exercise, or maybe even as someone getting back into it after a long time away, walking into the gym can be extremely nerve racking and uncomfortable. Starting a fitness journey is already hard enough. Starting out at home in a safe and comfortable environment is going to take that anxiety away and let you focus on the more important things like correct form and maintaining intensity.

Take Away

Fitness is not a one size fits all, someone may thrive in one environment while another may perish. If you enjoy going to the gym and immersing yourself in the community then absolutely keep doing that! There are a lot of good gyms with really good people in them.

If your anxiety is preventing you from stepping foot in that gym, or you don’t have time to commute back and forth, or if you’ve had a gym membership for years but only ever go in to use the treadmill then mobile personal training may be what you need to finally reach those fitness goals.
